How to Become A Mentor
Any female teacher, who has a willing spirit, is eligible to become a mentor. Mentors are expected to participate in training, make real connections with her mentees, and to facilitate at least one activity or program each month.

Meet Melissa Nelson
Founder
Melissa Nelson is the current school media specialist for Allen Jay Prep Academy, where she is the facilitator for LOVE. She is a lifelong learner and a compassionate servant leader. She received her undergraduate degree in English from Appalachian State University, Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of NC at Greensboro, and Advanced Degree in Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and has worked for Guilford County Schools for over two decades. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Melissa founded LOVE in 2011 at Southern Guilford Middle School. Since then, LOVE (Ladies Of Value and Excellence) has been established in several schools throughout the county.
